Black Caesar
Action/Drama
Based on true events of a prominent African tribal war chieftain named Chikere, who became one of the most feared pirates on the seas after his wife was enslaved. While captured on a ship, Chikere broke free and forced the captain and crew into a corner at gunpoint. But the ship eventually wrecked during a storm, and he ended up on a remote island eventually befriending another survivor, Edward Teach.
Chikere casts off his past, renames himself CAESAR, and commits to exacting revenge upon those who wronged him. Caesar and Ed hitch a ride off the island on what turns out to be a slave ship – so Caesar sparks a bloody rebellion that wins them the frigate. He and Ed take on an experienced crew at the pirate haven of New Providence, then Ed leads them into battle with his beard aflame, earning the name by which history knows him: BLACKBEARD. Black Caesar is on a journey to get his wife back. Things eventually come to a head with Blackbeard when their goals collide.
Untitled Military (NYT Best Seller)
Action/Drama
Based on real-life events, the New York Times Best Seller, is an edgy and emotional drama that goes inside the rowdy world of the Army’s underdogs. It’s a little-known fact that when the Army can’t discard its “problem” infantrymen outright, it sends them to a heavy weapons company. When a new Captain takes command of a unit of the Army has already written off misfits, the new Captain sees instead a group of hardheaded badasses. Working with his battle-tested first sergeant he turns the company into a sledgehammer in Afghanistan. This is a gritty drama of boys and men—from backwoods, inner cities, and suburbs—all strangers at first, but who would die for each other in the end. As they face death on the battlefield just after 9/11, they must also deal with family conflict thousands of miles away. Hill’s wife, leads the families “in the rear,” many of them now single parents. All must make tough moral choices as they live in the shadow of mortal uncertainty. As homefront and battlefront tensions escalate, his patriotic idealism is shattered when he finds that he must also fight his own government. As powerful forces tie his soldier’s hands and coddle the enemy, his faith in God drives him to protect his men and pursue justice. This Best Seller tautly weaves the men’s life-and-death frontline fight with their fight to keep their families together at home, bringing to vivid life the unseen sacrifice of America’s unsung soldiers.
